 HERITAGE NO : 1179 A crafty half-back, who could also operate at hooker, Jamie Ellis made his full senior debut in the 10-20 defeat in the Super League match against Salford City Reds on 3rd July 2009 when he came off the bench to provide a pinpoint kick for winger Francis Meli to score in the corner. The rest of the bench were all forwards: Maurie Fa’savalu, Andrew Dixon and Paul Clough. In what was his final match, at Hull KR, he played scrum-half and kicked a goal, although Saints once again were defeated, 10-26. Jamie found competition intense and opportunities limited at Knowsley Road and moved initially to Leigh on loan [2011] before playing for a several Super League and Championship clubs over the next decade. St Helens born Jamie became one of Rugby League’s most durable and reliable journeymen, with clubs eager to have him on board for his organisational skills, try-scoring ability and all-round kicking game. The list is as follows: Hull FC [2012] Castleford [2012-14] Huddersfield [2015-17] Hull KR [2017] together with atrio of reprises: Castleford [2018-19] Hull KR [2020] and Leigh Centurions [2021.
